Bulimia is an eating disorder that is is behind closed doors. A lot of people don’t realize this but it is a serious disease and it eats away at your body. It becomes an addiction which starts to effect you mentally. Listed below are some ways to cope with this horrible disease.

Understand your symptoms

People do not realize that the acid from your stomach rots your teeth causing you tremendous pain. Do not ignore these symptoms because it will only cause more damage to you.

Know how harmful this disease is

Bulimia is a terrible disease that causes massive damage to your body and mind. It also causes possible malnutrition and due to the emotional effects, also suicide.

Tell someone right away

Telling someone about your problem is the first step and getting better. Talk to a friend or family member that you trust. You can also call a counselor or hotline which are all confidential. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel once you talk to someone.

Seek help

Now it is time to seek help from a professional. Whether it be a doctor, psychologist, or counselor, this is the next step in healing. You can then come up with a plan to start the healing process.

Be nice to you

Be nice to yourself. Love yourself and begin to realize how amazing that you are. Do not allow other people’s thoughts or words impact how you feel about you. That problem lies with them and not you. You have taken the first step to heal yourself and become healthier and that is nothing to take lightly.
