There are may theories as to why we dream and the meanings of our dreams. A lot of people believe that our dreams create insights to our lives as well as our troubles, worries, and daily experiences. With a little bit of effort, you can remember your dreams more often.
Getting a good night’s rest is the key to remembering your dreams more vividly. The body is at extreme rest but the mind is still active with dreams. Going to bed at night around the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning will also help you remember your dreams. Try to make sure you get at least 7-9 hours of sleep at night and create a really peaceful sleep environment.
Write them down
Keep a notebook by your bed at night. If you wake up from a dream you can instantly write it down in your notebook. Have it ready to write in so if you do wake up, you can write it down quickly.
No food before bed
Do not drink anything alcoholic, eat, or take medicine before bed. These things could interfere with your memory and sleep patterns.
Calm your mind
Calm your mind and body before you go to sleep. Try to eliminate negative and stressful thoughts from your mind before you attempt to go to sleep. Don’t bring any distractions to bed such as cell phones or laptops. Your mind needs to be clear.
Make your mind up to remember your dreams
Make a conscious decision to remember your dreams. If you really concentrate of the idea and continuously tell yourself that you are going to, then you will. Your desire to do so will outweigh anything else.
Think about a concern
Think you about a concern you are having or a problem you need a resolution for. This will open a door in your dreams and you or more than likely to dream about it
